Reportedly, over the court, Mathew asserted that it was never appropriate to have instituted a conservatorship over Britney’s case in the first place. Also, he aimed his words at Britney’s father, Jamie Spears saying, “If he loves his daughter, it’s time to step aside so Ms. Spears can move forward to a healthy, productive life.”

The request for Mathew’s appointment came after Britney’s former attorney Sam Ingham III, filed to resign from her case on July 6.

According to The New York Times, Britney’s former lawyer was believed to be secretly “loyal” to her father. So, if Mathew ever should be hired, he was expected to greatly differ from Britney’s old lawyer and push for an end to Britney’s conservatorship.
