Laura Ritter-Allio Cause Of Death

On 23rd January 2019, Laura Ritter-Allio passed away. Her cause of death: cancer.

According to a GoFundMe campaign launched to help with Laura’s medical expenses, the doctors diagnosed her with 2b breast cancer in April 2017. She underwent 18 months of chemo, radiation, and a double mastectomy.

However, in August 2018, scans revealed a concerning spot on Laura’s liver. Later, they learned it was a stage 4 cancer.

A December 2018 update on Laura’s GoFundMe page revealed that her cancer had returned to her liver. What’s worse, cancer had spread to her lungs as well. She would die within a month or two after the diagnosis.

Channeling her passion, Laura created opportunities and gave back to her Akron, Ohio community.

Of all the roles, Laura embraced the title of an advocate the most. After the cancer diagnosis, she began spreading messages of advocacy, self-care, and awareness. Her obituary noted:

“Laura’s regular updates on social media created a community of people, survivors, advocates, and followers who learned from her, were inspired by her, and were rooting for her.”

Despite the painful 2-year battle with cancer, Laura remained positive. She also encouraged others to do the same.

A month after Laura’s death, Michael founded The L4 Project in her memory. According to Heavy.com, the non-profit aims “to enrich the lives of people and families battling cancer by supporting organizations that provide financial, experiential, emotional, and other assistance during times of hardship.”

Laura Ritter-Allio And Michael Allio: Wedding, Son

Laura Ritter had met her future husband, Michael Allio when she was a student at Loyola University Chicago.

On 1st September 2012, Laura tied the knot with Michael Allio in Plymouth, Michigan. On their 6th wedding anniversary, she penned a lengthy message on her Instagram. It began:

“Six years ago we said our vows. I remember being told by a friend to take this moment in… that nothing mattered more on my wedding day than concentrating on the pledge to my future husband.”

She continued:

“At the time, we had only optimism for what our future would hold. We had no idea the joy we would experience watching my womb grow and welcoming James. And we had no idea of the pain we would feel when cancer has tried to rip our lives apart. We have no idea what the next six years will bring.

Laura ended the post by writing:

“However, one thing I do know is that I’ll have you by my side to live this beautiful life. I love you more than I thought possible and will love you far beyond my death in this world we know. You are my guardian angel and somehow we met at Loyola at the perfect time to make sure I had you in my life. I love you. Happy 6th Anniversary!”

4 years after the nuptials, Laura gave birth to their son James Michael. According to Reality Steve, Michael would cut his “The Bachelorette” stint to be with James.

Laura and Michael built their married life on the philosophies of love, family, laughter, and faith. According to her obituary, the married couple “enjoyed cooking, hiking in the Metroparks, visiting their favorite vacation spot in Loreto, Mexico, golfing, simple moments at home, and entertaining the company of the friends and family who made their lives so full.”
