An indeed.com report reads the average salary of an electrical engineer in California as estimated $108K per year. Because Mukund acquired the Electrical & Computer Engineering degree from the University Of California, one may sketch a preliminary idea from this.

Also at the time of writing, Mukund Chillakanti’s net worth was reported to be more than $1 million.

Just like Nikhita, Mukund continued being employed at Moxtra, a company owned by his father-in-law Subrah Iyar. And for now, we could not tell if his folks were also as much moneyed as Nikhita’s.

Mukund Chillakanti and Nikhita Iyar officially tied the knot on Dec. 30, 2019. And like all the other weddings featured on The Big Day, theirs too took place before the Coronavirus rampant.

As seen on the show, the couple first wedded over an intimate temple wedding ceremony in California. Only then, they decided to go to Chennai for a traditional and elaborate ceremony.

They hired a team of planners to take care of every small detail. The wedding festivities that comprised of Bollywood-style sangeet, live music, Alice in Wonderland-themed Mehendi, a movie night where guests walked down a red carpet, happened at the Leela Palace Hotel in Chennai.

Then, the bride and groom exchanged vows at the Radisson Blu Resort Temple Bay.

Mukund and Nikki met at a summer camp for the online high school. Exactly the way Mukund explained on The Big Day: when his brother Karthik and Nikki’s sister Lena started spending time together and started dating, it became a kind of obligatory that, “our siblings are dating so we should hang out sometimes”.

So, as Lena and Karthik’s wedding planning started Mukund and Nikki grew closer as two siblings prepping for their elder siblings’ big day. They took dance classes together.

Mukund: “Siblings dance is what it was called then, ironically. When you come for dance practice, you end up getting dinner after. Eventually, it became more dinners than dance practices.”

And then the New Year’s night, the night before Lena and Karthik’s wedding, Nikhita asked Mukund, “Is there anything you want to say?”. And he was like, “Okay, I really like you.”

This way the whole thing started and they started dating and a year later Mukund popped the question.

That been said, Mukund and Nikhita are still very much happy and together, and married. They of course returned home to the San Francisco Bay Area in California after one of the most extravagant weddings that the people on Netflix ever saw.

Clearly, the young love birds did not hold back in any way for their big day.
