Lindy Thackston Health Update
Lindy Thackston first felt that something was wrong with her body after she started getting cramps, bloody stools, and lower back pain back in Feb 2020. Thus, she visited the hospital and her doctors wanted her to get a colonoscopy. But her scheduled screening was canceled three times as the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Finally, in May that year, Lindy was able to get a colonoscopy, and her doctors determined she had stage 3 colorectal cancer.
A cancer patient, Lindy then had to go under 15 rounds of radiation before she was ready to start chemotherapy. But unfortunately, Lindy faced complications during that period — first a bowel blockage, followed by tachycardia. She mentioned that she was hospitalized for 24 days and had emergency surgery for the bowel blockage.
Just within two months of diagnosis, Lindy lost 18 kg (40 lbs) but she was all set for chemotherapy. Finally, in August 2020, she underwent a tumor removing surgery, which led to internal bleeding, and after 10 rounds of chemotherapy, they had to stop the treatment early.
On April 12, 2021, after almost a year of diagnosis, Lindy was finally cancer-free. She mentioned that she felt “survivor’s guilt” as she rang the bell at the hospital while everyone else was still sitting there.
Now that Lindy has weathered the storm, she is encouraging people to seek medical care and continue getting their regular screenings. She also launched a very own podcast called “Life with Lindy.” where she detailed her symptoms, her colonoscopy experience, and the treatment she received.

Moreover, Lindy couldn’t contain her love for her same-aged husband and wished him a happy Valentine’s day 2021 over IG. A part of her caption wrote,
“We’re not the sappy-post types but after this year I wanted to give a public #HappyValentinesDay to my better half. I can’t imagine the fear of losing your spouse all summer and still taking care of your family and everything else life throws at you.”
